WORKSHOPS
Company team building:
We offer different workshops for companies that are interested to develop the team spirit within their company, to provide a better service to their customers or to take away the daily stress from their employees by the use of the old Samurai principles and values.
The workshops are provided by Bert Van den Plas. He worked in financial services in Luxembourg for nine years and is currently professional teacher in the Takeda-ryu Nakamura Ha, one of Japan oldest Samurai schools still existing these days.
Samurai workshop:
What:
In this workshop we have a closer look at Bushido. Bushido is the combination of the two words; bushi meaning warrior, and do meaning way. Therefore bushido can be literally translated as 'The Way of the Warrior'. It was devised during the 9th to the 12th century as a code for the way of life as a samurai.
The Bushido taught seven great virtues for the samurai to live upon. The samurai class does not exist anymore, nevertheless its values are still very much applied in business and daily life in Japan.
1st part: Theoretical explanation of bushido
2nd part: Aikido, practical training of the seven values of the samurai
Time:
2,5 hours
Number of participants: 5 - 20 persons

Samurai Team building:
What:
In this workshop we have a practical look into the AIKIDO principles. AIKIDO is the art of gathering and combining forces. Formerly the ART of AIKI ("AIKI NO JUTSU") was the spiritual and strategic fighting system of the Samurai. When the Samurai laid down their weapons in the late 1800’s many traditional schools began to emphasize the ‘DO’ philosophy, that of creating a better person through the techniques of the warrior.
The goal of this workshop:
- create a different point of view in handling difficult situations
- learn to work as a team, not as an individual
AIKIDO is based on the cooperation from the individuals to achieve together a higher level of competence; it’s all about TEAM-work.
Time:
2 hours
Number of participants: 10 - 20 persons
